ENG: Crossing the San River from east to west on a barge with a Toyota Land Cruiser, Wyszatyce, Poland. The San River roughly coincided with the pre-WWII ethnolinguistic boundary between the Poles on the west and the Ukrainians, or Ruthenians, on the east. The San River became part of the Curzon Line that became the de facto border between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany during WWII. While the Curzon Line was supposed to delineate the eastern Polish border after the war, negotiations between Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin set the current border between Ukraine and Poland slightly east of the Curzon Line.

FR: Traversée, d’est en ouest, en bac, avec un Toyota Land Cruiser, de la rivière San. La rivière San à coïncidé peu ou prou à la frontière ethnolinguistique d’avant la Seconde Guerre mondiale entre les Polonais à l’ouest et les Ukrainiens, ou Ruthènes, à l’est. Le tracé de la rivière a ensuite en partie été intégré dans celui de la Ligne Curzon qui devint la frontière de facto entre l’Union soviétique et l’Allemagne nazie. Alors que la Ligne Curzon devait devenir la frontière  est-polonaise après la guerre, des négociations entre Roosevelt, Churchill et Stalin ont finalement décalé cette frontière légèrement vers l’est entre la Pologne et l’Ukraine.
